For all of the “Parrot heads” and friends of Parrot heads out there, Deb Bergs has a gift for you.  She has published not only one, but two beautiful parrot patterns.  Now you can stand out from the thousands attending a Jimmy Buffet concert who are wearing silly hats with parrots on top.  Utilizing a peyote or brick stitch, these patterned amulet bags are designed to be constructed easily with delica beads.

Deb Bergs, well known for her fabulous realistic nature patterns has designed over a dozen colorful new works of art.  Each amulet bag is designed to have one pattern on the front and a different one on the back.  What a great idea-a reversible bag.  We have to stitch the back anyway, so why not complete another design in the process.  The pattern is laid out so that one design continues into the other and you stitch one flat rectangle that is then joined at the side and bottom.  Not only that.  You can mix and match the patterns in the book or stitch a solid back if you wish.

Deb’s instructions are clear and concise and the patterns are large and easy to follow.  In addition to basic instructions for peyote and brick stitch, five different fringes are diagramed.  Names of the bead colors are included, in addition to the numbers, so that you can use beads other than delicas if you wish.

All of the patterns are attractive.  The frog, egret, tiger, panda and dragonfly are very realistic and all are appealing.  Flowers and geometric designs complete the selection.  It is difficult to decide which to make first.  For a small book of 35 pages, there are enough projects to create over a dozen beautiful, eye-catching pieces.
