Afghans are not usually on my want list, however, these floral motifs are very enticing.  There are 48 afghan patterns and each has stitch guide with special stitch instructions included.  The motifs are varied and include granny squares, strips, triangles and octagons.  The subjects are diverse with roses, zinnias, daisies, carnations, dahlias, primrose, sunflowers, posies, tulips, violets and other blooming flowers.

My favorite is the Rose of Sharon, partly because of the lovely muted colors that were used for the example.  This is one project to keep in mind for sometime in the future.

The patterns range from easy to experience.  There is no skill level identification; however, a quick look at the stitches included in the pattern will give you an idea of if it is more complex than you want to tackle.

Some of the flower patterns can be adapted for wearable embellishment instead of making an afghan.  Use thinner yarn or thread instead of the fiber listed to make the afghan.  Good examples are the Roses on Lace and Daisy Days afghans.

Have no doubt, you will find an afghan within these pages that you can’t do without.
