More French-Beaded Flowers by Dalene Kelly
ISBN 0-87349-669-8, Softbound, 127 pages, $21.99, Krause Publications, 700 E. State Street, Iola, WI 54990-0001, 888-457-2873 or 715-445-4612, www.krausebooks.com

There have been several wire beaded flower books published in the last few years and I have collected them all.  I always find a new look or idea in each new publication.

Dalene brings bold and beautiful flowers, splashing across each page to you.  There are 21 flower patterns plus a butterfly, hummingbird, dragonfly and bee.  You can make a bouquet and then add a few of hummingbirds or one of the other critters.  Dalene will show you how to attach your flying critter to a flower so it looks to be in flight.  I thought maybe the Spiderwort was a critter; however, it is actually a little cluster of flowers.

The type flowers include all the usual suspects plus a few exotics such as Bird of Paradise, Bromeliad, Mexican Thistle and a Bonsai Tree.  This bonsai tree is great fun and will not take you months to make.  The illustrations and easy instructions will help you create your own mini tree.

The Ghost Orchid would look lovely on a sculptured background; the photo will give you plenty of ideas.  The Spider Mum is pretty and would make a great corsage or decoration.  All the leaves are twisted which is easy to make and if you use a bead mix or rainbow bead, it would look spectacular.  You can string all the beads for the Spider Mum using a bead spinner and it will take no time to make several.  The red Peony is beautiful and made up of red luster beads.

There is a material, tool and supply section along with a seed bead guide showing the seed bead size and the mm equivalent.  The general instructions break down the process of making one beaded leaf into several steps with illustrations for each.  How to make a 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8 bead piece are provided.  There are clear instructions for making each leaf and petal, stems and how to build up a flower.

Once you have made some of the flowers, you can combine them to make a bouquet.  If you like to make French beaded flowers, you will want this book.  If you collect wire beaded flower books, More French Beaded Flowers should be added to your collection.
