Get ready to eye-goggle Cheryl's lavish knits
worked with ribbon yarns. She presents a medley scarves, shawls,
stoles, hats, t-shirts, bags, knapsacks, cell phone cases, wraps and ponchos
to make. Many of the projects are very easy to follow. Her
designs, plus those of other designers, will be a joy to make.
Special techniques are provided at the back of the book with illustrations
and instructions, plus abbreviations, skill levels and conversion
information. The scarves
include diamond shapes and loopy edging. The T-shirts include
designs with pizzazz and glamour. The shawls, stoles and wraps are
yummy and the ponchos are delicious.
Each project includes materials required, skill level,
gauge, special stitch patterns, the instructions, schematic, plus full color
photo and section photo of the item. The instructions are easy to
follow and several are listed as "easy."
My favorite T-shirt is knitted side-to-side, made with
Cherry Hill yarns, and worked with seed stitch. I love all the
ponchos, each worked differently, with some allowing for more than one
direction to wear it. Most of the patterns have several sizes listed
for a perfect fit. You can use thin,
wide, heavy and light ribbon yarns for these creations; there is something
for everyone throughout the seasons. The projects are split between
easy and intermediate skill level. I look
forward to the time when I can make some of these ponchos with all the
lovely new ribbon yarn that is available today. A great book for
knitters. |
