Laura Bryant's expertise as a knitter, designer, fiber color specialist and instructor is well established in the knitting world.  Most knitters are familiar with her work.  You will never be disappointed with Laura’s patterns, books, yarn or classes.

The Yarn Stash Workbook is one of her recent publications.  You need only look at the cover to realize you can’t do without this book.

A section is provided with examples of how pattern, color and yarn weight affect knitting projects.  The examples are full color of the yarns used and a sample knitted with those yarns.  Various yarn types are explained and how to use them for the best effects.  Learning to choose the right yarns for a project is good information for all knitters.  The color sequencing will help you when working with more than one color yarn.

The patterns include unbelievable ponchos, ruanas, wraps, scarves, T-shirts, sweaters, jackets, shawls, hats, stuffed bears, pillows and throws that are made with Laura’s exclusive yarns.  With her fibers and patterns, you will be wearing a work of art.

I love all the scarves and wraps, both the design and fiber texture.  The large scarf looks more like a wrap than a scar, and one pattern for my must do list.  The larger multi-color wraps are gorgeous, and the Toppers encompass ruanas, serapes and capelets and ponchos which will overwhelm you.  The gold capelet is an openwork poncho style garment that flows beautifully in Verikeri yarn.  All the interior designs, accessories and wearables are lovely too.

Although the patterns appear to total 20, Laura offers so many variations; it is more like 40 patterns.   There are illustrations; schematics and additional information are included on all patterns except the most simplistic.  The gauge is provided for the patterns and specifics about fibers required, allowing for use of your own stash of yarn.

The finishing instructions include seaming, blocking, crochet edging and knitted bands, and care of the garment.

The Yarn Stash Workbook is a must have book for knitters.
