Whether you already know how to macramé or not, you will find Sherri’s book of interest.  The macramé techniques remain the same as they have been for ages.  However, her designs offer a fresh perspective, with easy instructions to follow and attractive jewelry to make.

Macramé has changed radically since the 1970’s.  Today, there are new fibers and beads that we did not have in the past.  Sherri has created beautiful contemporary jewelry with these materials that everyone will love.

The designs include earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, watchbands and bags.  Nylon and silk cords, leather, fine threads and novelty yarns make macramé a star among the crafts for creating jewelry.  All the techniques and instructions, along with step-by-step photos, are included and in full color.  Each jewelry piece is displayed on a full page.  There is also an Ipod, bag and belt to make.

My favorites are the cabochon rings; very easy to make and very attractive.  You could also use buttons with a shank at the back in addition to the cabochons.  Rings do not take long to make and everyone loves them as gifts.  Designer and focal beads can be added to the macramé, as well as, small seed beads added to thinner fibers for delicate jewelry.

I like the idea of macramé rings; who would have thought!  They are attractive and easy to make worked around a cabochon.  The projects include rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, belts, I-pod pouch, and a purse made of yarn.  Beads are included in all the projects, some as small as seed beads and others larger millimeter beads.

The new fibers that are now available make macramé a new and exciting craft.
