For the quilter who has accumulated far more fat quarters than she’ll ever use in this life time, (you know who you are), this book provides a fun solution.  Included are over thirty projects utilizing fat quarters of fabric.  The projects include, for example, pillows, wall hangings, covers for candles and baskets, bird houses planters and jars, as well as place mats, padded picture frames and photo albums.  There is also a clever, attractive window valence that can be made using a “no sew” method. The skill level required ranges from beginner to the advanced.

There are excellent ideas for engaging the interest of non-sewers, such as; the colorful “no sew” valence, fabric covered birdhouses, picture frames and albums.  For the novice sewer, there are pillows and potholders.  The Bear’s Paw pillow and some of the wall hangings would appeal to the intermediate to advanced sewers. My favorite, which I plan to make, is the cover project, the “Catnap Cuddle-Ups,” an adorable, stuffed mommy cat and kittens.  The instructions are easy to follow, the drawings helpful and the photos inspiring.
