Every year, Interweave’s Handwoven magazine comes out with a Design Collection edition. This is number 20 in the annual series and still proves to be one of the best ten dollars a weaver can spend. Collection 20 is devoted to 15 projects that can be woven in a weekend. The time necessary for each project is given in the "Project at a Glance" section of the directions. This is a great tool for busy weavers with limited time to weave. Some of the sewing and hemstitching would take me longer than their estimates, but it is a great tool for planning. As with all Interweave Press books and magazines, this is one that goes in "the notebook to be referred to often." One of the projects is the Anita Mayer weaver’s bag. This kind of surprised me since I had made that bag 20 years ago. Then I remembered everyone is wearing those same styles today that were popular 20 years ago! Review by Teresa Barrett |
